Lauren Hill-Wood

 

 

-Lauren Hill began swimming in 1970 under Harold Paulson at age 7 for the Portland Boys Club. 

-she joined the newly formed Nautilus Swim Club in 1971 for Don Richards (MSDHoF 2003) establishing herself as a top swimmer in Maine for her age group. During her age group career she went on to set many state records.

-Her talents in a variety of events and distances while at Nautilus Swim Club earned her the Most Valuable swimmer for 1978 and 1979.

-While at Cape Elizabeth High School, she was selected as Maine's Interscholastic Swimmer of the Year in 1979 and 1980.

-as a high school swimmer she set 7 school records in the 200 IM/200 free/100 fly (lasted 30 years)/100 back/500 free/200 MR/400 FR

-set 6 state records in the 200 IM, 100 butterfly, 500 free and the 100 backstroke 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.

-she was selected as Cape Elizabeth High School Most Valuable swimmer in 1978, 1979 and 1980.

-While attending Bowdoin College in 1981 she earned All American status swimming for Coach Charlie Butt (MSDHoF 2010)

-She has competed for Scottsdale Masters and currently lives in Arizona
